would an alt internet/telephone dating service become popular?

see tv commercials all the time for telephone dating services. apparently it has become a huge business in the last few years. a place where sad, lonely meagers can call in and find someone compatible in their loneliness. these commercials always seem to find very attractive women with huge cantaloupes crammed in their tiny shirts. can't believe people that look like that ever need to call into a service to get in touch with someone compatible. seems like they probably wouldn't be interested in compatibility. seems like they just wanna look nice n hot to attract men with big biceps and gelled up hair and no personality besides their love for jagermeister-bombs.

do you think if i started a internet/phone dating company for alts i could get some good cash? seems like what makes alot of people get into the alternative style is loneliness. they feel like no one gets them so they want to become what no one is. should i cash in on the sadness of others. seems like people could really dig this.

what type of alt guy wouldn't call my service if i used a model like this for my advertisements?

people could call in while they are driving around feeling alone and talking on their blue tooth devices.
think this guy is ahead of the curve with the invention of the hands free cell phone.

don't think i could ever cash in on other peoples misfortunes. just not cool. feel like us as consumers are already getting raped by many big businesses. we don't need a third party to lure us into false hope by flaunting around fake women to rope us into their schemes.

  1. i think alternative people think too highly of themselves to call in or whatever. it seems to be part of the alternative lifestyle to "not care" if your lonely or at least not care enough to reach out, or make an effort to meet someone. all they need is their gang/crew, drinking, and music.. i could be wrong though, you might just make millions if you gave it a try

  2. on second thought i wasnt done.. i want to know if you think of yourself as an alt and if so, would you ever consider using an alt dating site? im pretty sure your answers gonna be no.

oh and the girl is beautiful, where did you find that picture? is it really random that i think her and shane would look really good together.. haha oh man

  3. i agree. alot of people who let their loneliness become who they are embrace it too much to call in and become less lonely.
i don't consider myself anything. i dress the way i like and i listen to a lot of different types of music because it's what i like, not because they are associated with a certain community or scene. i'd never use a dating site/phone service. i think i would have to abandon a bit of self respect before doing that.

i know a few shanes, if you weren't anonymous i might know which one your talking about

  4. but dont you think that every single one of those people you call alts would argue that they too dress a certain way and listen to a type of music, not because its associated with a specific community or scene, but because they LIKE it? what is it that makes them alts and not you?

just something to think about man. loved your post though, this was a good one

i was talking about shane mcsauby. always pictured him with a pretty lil exotic alternative girl like that
